Questions

Frequently asked questions.

Straightforward answers about FaithHavens and about finding support.

What is FaithHavens?

FaithHavens is a faith-informed organization dedicated to helping individuals and families learn about mental health and substance-use recovery and explore support options — with dignity, understanding, and hope.

This website shares educational information and links to trusted public resources. To ask what support FaithHavens can offer you, please reach out through our contact page.

What types of support are available?

Support for mental health and substance-use concerns comes in many forms: evaluation and treatment by licensed professionals, medical care, peer and mutual-help groups, family education, and the encouragement of a faith community. The right combination depends on each person’s needs.

Our Mental Health, Substance Use Recovery, and Faith & Recovery pages explain these options in plain language, and our Resource Library links to national helplines and treatment locators. To ask what support FaithHavens can offer you, please reach out through our contact page.

Does FaithHavens offer mental health services?

FaithHavens does not advertise licensed mental health treatment on this website. Our Mental Health page is educational: it explains common concerns and the different kinds of professionals who can help.

If you would like a professional evaluation, a primary care provider, a licensed mental health professional, or FindTreatment.gov is a good place to start.

Does FaithHavens offer substance-use treatment?

FaithHavens does not advertise detoxification, residential, or licensed outpatient substance-use treatment on this website. Our Substance Use Recovery page explains the different levels of care so you can make informed decisions.

Withdrawal from alcohol, benzodiazepines, and some other substances can be medically dangerous. Please speak with a medical professional before stopping. The free, confidential SAMHSA National Helpline (1-800-662-4357) can help you locate treatment.

Does FaithHavens provide faith-based recovery support?

Faith-informed encouragement is at the heart of FaithHavens' mission. Our Faith & Recovery page describes how faith, community, and purpose can be part of a recovery journey alongside appropriate professional care.

Can family members contact FaithHavens?

Yes. Parents, spouses, adult children, friends, and pastors often reach out first, and they are welcome to. You do not need your loved one’s permission to learn about options or to look after your own well-being.

Our Family & Caregiver page offers practical guidance for difficult conversations, boundaries, and self-care.

Is support available for people who do not identify as religious?

Everyone is welcome at FaithHavens. Faith is offered as an invitation, never a requirement, and you will be treated with the same dignity and respect whatever your beliefs.

Does FaithHavens accept insurance?

FaithHavens has not published information about insurance or payment, and nothing on this website should be read as a statement that insurance is accepted or that any service is covered. If you are seeking clinical treatment, your insurer’s member services line (on the back of your card) can explain your behavioral health benefits.

How do I find out about costs?

FaithHavens has not published cost information yet, so please ask us directly before making any decisions.

If you are considering clinical treatment elsewhere, ask the provider for costs in writing. Under the federal No Surprises Act, people who are uninsured or paying for care themselves can generally request a Good Faith Estimate from health care providers before receiving services.

What should I do if someone needs immediate help?

If someone is in immediate danger or having a medical emergency — including a suspected overdose — call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.

For a mental health or substance-use crisis, call or text 988 to reach the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, available 24 hours a day. For a possible poisoning or overdose question, Poison Help is available at 1-800-222-1222.

FaithHavens is not an emergency service. Please do not use our contact form in a crisis.

Your next step can begin today.

Reaching out for support can feel difficult. You deserve to be treated with dignity, compassion, and understanding.
